Vehicles running on cooking oil deliver big carbon savings

A study has shown that low-carbon trucks running on used cooking oil (UCO) can achieve 97% carbon savings in comparison with dual diesel/gas engines.

The two-year trial was commissioned by Convert2Green (C2G), an energy-from-waste group funded by the Government’s Office for Low Emission Vehicles and Innovate UK.

The ‘ultra biofuel’ is made by processing UCO and animal fats which can then be used in any diesel engine.
