A Northwestern Wisconsin biodiesel producer recently opened its first Minnesota station at a former Armor Fuel & Save station on Midway Road just off Interstate 35.
Armor Fueling Systems closed its self-service gas stations earlier this year.
“We had talked to them about some of their above-ground concrete tanks and he said, ‘Hey, I have seven stations up here, and I’m sick of selling gasoline. You guys interested in one?’ ” said Herb Blaser, logistics coordinator of Cumberland, Wis.-based SunPower Premium Cold Flow Biodiesel.
SunPower was interested. It bought the station’s tanks, leased the land and reopened the station in late September.
