In Indiana, the LaGrange County Planning Commission approved plans for a key $4 million storage component of an (overall) $165 million soybean-processing and biodiesel facility.

The plans call for a 21,450 sq. ft. steel storage building. Founder of Ultra Soy of America, Gary Pipenger stated that the company must begin construction of the facility before April 15 or face having its air quality permit expiring.

The facility will then face a two year time limit to have construction completed at a cost reported to be $4 million. Pipenger reports having 96% funding for his project, but must raise approximately $18 million to reach full funding. Previously stated plans for the project had an initial capacity of 60 MGy, with intentions to double the capacity to 120 MGy.
