In Germany, Petrotec, a biodiesel company has been caught up in a dioxin scare which has surfaced in which thousands of chickens have been destroyed and a thousand farms have been instructed to stop selling products that come from animals that may have been fed contaminated feed.
Petrotec reported sold dioxin contaminated fatty acids to a Dutch company, who then sold the contaminated products to Harles and Jentzsh. H&J stated that they have been mixing biodiesel waste products into animal feed for years. Petrotec stated that the contaminated products were to be used for industrial lubricants and were not intended for use as animal feed.
