BRAZIL is conducting 11 biofuel feasibility studies in Africa, in conjunction with the US and the EU.

One particular project involves a cross-border biodiesel initiative between Senegal and Guinea Bissau, where sunflower seeds will be used as a biodiesel feedstock. Senegal is expected to have three biodiesel plants and one fuel ethanol plant based on sugarcane, with the help of Brazil.
