Indiana headquartered energy company Imperial Petroleum (OTCBB:IPMN) reported strong revenue growth at its biodiesel subsidiary, e-biofuels, in the month of September. The microcap company sold 1.87 million gallons of biodiesel in September which generated revenues of US$5.65 million, up 61% on revenues in July and 339% higher that the monthly average in 2009.
"These are exciting times at our e-biofuels subsidiary and the management and staff have been working very hard since the acquisition by Imperial to ramp up sales volumes and revenues while holding down costs," said Jeffrey Wilson, President of Imperial.
Imperial acquired the e-biofuels business in May with the intention of ramping up capacity to 15 million gallons per year (1.25 million gallons per month). This milestone was achieved in July, and the company confirmed this morning that it was very close to achieving its second stated goal of expanding capacity to 25 million gallons per annum (2.08 million gallons per month).
“Our contracted volumes from the plant will maintain production and sales at or near the September levels well into our current fiscal year. We have also been able to extend the current bank commitment for e-biofuels senior debt through December 2010 in order to provide time to complete a re-financing,” Wilson noted.
