Marinha americana começa a usar biodiesel do Pacífico

Pacific Biodiesel’s “cleaner, safer, locally produced premium biodiesel” is now being used in tactical vehicles on Marine Corps Base Hawai‘i (MCBH). The Biodiesel Demonstration in Tactical Vehicles Project will test the performance of B20 (20 percent biodiesel blended with 80 percent diesel) in selected military vehicles, and Pacific Biodiesel donated the biodiesel for the initial fill-up. Processed locally from used cooking oil—including oil collected from the MCBH dining halls—biodiesel enables the base to play a role in supplying its own fuel.

“The military recognizing the importance of using biodiesel reinforces that it’s an essential part of a sustainable energy future,” said Pacific Biodiesel President Bob King. “Now it’s time for Congress to take action and reinstate the expired tax credit that has 70 percent of the industry shut down.”
